"We are excited to offer our passengers non- stop seasonal service, which now includes two brand new destinations Chicago-Midway and Austin," said McClellan. "Additionally, we are proud to continue to offer more one-stop destina- tions that will allow our passengers to reach new destinations without ever leaving the plane." The same-plane destinations now offered out of Panama City Beach include Boston, Cleve- land, Corpus Christi, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Providence, Rhode Island, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Washington, D.C. Airport officials said they're excited that Southwest continues to expand and open up more options for those visiting the Panama City Beach area. "That's what's really important," said Mc- Clellan. "We want our passengers to come from all over to visit our beautiful beaches during the summer. And that's what it's all about." ► PANAMA CITY BEACH Panama City Beach Resort Builds Convention Center For Christian Concerts A resort in Panama City Beach is building a con- vention center dedicated to Christian events and concerts to be held during Spring Break 2017. Laketown Wharf Resort has allotted a 28,000 square foot area beneath its parking garage for Christian events this Spring Break, some of which have already been booked. "We're putting a new face on Spring Break," said Bay County Tourist Development Council member Claire Pease. "We're going to try and push it out. I don't know if it will work or not, but we're spending a ton of money." Pease said she hopes the construction of the new convention center will start a new trend of Christian concerts and events being held in the location during Spring Break. She also voiced out the possibility that Christian events might also be held all over Panama Beach if they succeed in Laketown Wharf. n ©2014 USI Insurance Services. All Rights Reserved.
